Children’s Books

When my nieces and nephews arrived, I began writing books for them, creating characters that mirrored the things they loved. So, I invite you to meet Elf, Wanda the Wasp, and the Rainbow Sheep!

Katie Dean children's books

All my children’s books are sold through Amazon. They are available on your local version of the site. I am going to give you details of each book, and will link through directly to the UK Amazon site. If you wish to purchase from a different country, you can simply replace the .co.uk in the web address, with your country code (e.g., .com for US, or .jp for Japan, etc.) Alternatively, you can open Amazon and either search for the book title or search using the ISBN. I’m including all of that information for you below.

If you are kind enough to be interested in any of these books, I really appreciate you leaving a review on Amazon. That helps to boost search results, and lets other people know more about the book so they can decide if it is something for them or not. I also appreciate you sharing my children’s books with anyone else who you think might enjoy them. Thank you!

Elf’s Big Adventure

This was the first of my children’s books, written for my eldest niece. We meet the adorable character Elf. He is helping Father Christmas load up the sleigh, and manages to get himself into a little bit of a scrape. From here, he enjoys a wonderful adventure on Christmas night.

This book is suitable to read to little ones, or as an early reader. Full of bright illustrations, it is happy and fun!

Elf and the Magic Portal

The sequel to Elf’s Big Adventure, this book sees young Elf carrying out some of the important tasks that take place in Lapland over the summer months. As ever, with Elf, his good intentions get him into a little bit of a scrape, and he makes some new friends in the process.

Just like the first book in the series, Elf and the Magic Portal is suitable for reading to your litttle ones, or as an early reader book. Large print and fun illustrations make this a wonderful gift for any little one.

Wanda the Kind Happy Wasp

This book is written in verse and tells the story of Wanda. She is essentially a very kind, helpful insect, but finds herself facing a series of challenges that bring out her worst side. She ends up getting into quite a mess, but thankfully her kind nature means she has a lot of friends to help out. So, all ends well!

This is suitable for reading to young children, or for those who are beginning to develop their reading skills.

The Rainbow Sheep

I wrote this book for my second niece who adores sheep. It is the story of Farmer Jo and her flock of sheep who end up on an inspiring adventure that reminds us all about the values of kindness and acceptance.

Written in large font and with a lot of illustrations, this is suitable for reading to young children, or for slightly older children to develop their reading skills.

Fantastic Young Children’s Book

“ I am chuffed to bits with Elf’s Big Adventure. It is a brilliant story with super illustrations. I have given copies to a friend for her 3 great grandchildren, all under 5 years old. Written in sensible , simple words for children learning to read. A neighbour wants to get a copy for her young daughter who is struggling learning at school.“
